We will chronicle the overt and subtle smears against Barack Obama during the 2008 US presidential election. We will focus on those attacks that go beyond the normal dirt of politics, such as business connections and misstatements, in order to focus on those that chart new territory in 2008 by attacking who he is, that is: a black man, biracial man, the son of an American and a Kenyan, a man with an atypical name; a man who lived abroad.

Republicanmarket at Texas convention: "will we still call it the White House?"
At the Texas state Republican convention, a booth by Republicanmarket was selling pins askling, "If Obama is President will we still call it the White House?"
